Parents need to be aware of what Internet sites their children are visiting. There are many computer programs available that have the capacity to block out offensive Web sites.

Natenshon has created two Web sites designed specifically for parents and children who are dealing with the emotional and the physical challenges of an eating disorder. These Web sites are a wholesome alternative to the dangerous pro-anorexic Web sites and an invaluable resource for parents and children.

Healthy Web Sites

For more detailed information on body image and anorexia in children, visit Empowered Kidz, a site for children who seek answers to pressing personal questions about body image, weight management and healthy eating.

Psychotherapist Abigail Natenshon provides support for parents at Empowered Parents in an effort to help prevent and recognize eating disorders in their child. There are self-assessment guides and articles related to eating disorders. Parents can also receive on-on-one advice from Natenshon by visiting the site.
